Simon and I catch the train to London. We’re very cold and very hungry. We succumb to the cornish nasty (sorry... pasty!) shop at Marylebone station. That’s how hungry we are.  We’ve been invited to the launch of the publication of a research project that Keith directed, Creating Difference: Overcoming Barriers to Diversity in UK Film and Television Employment.

C&CP project-managed the publication of the execsummary.pdf, the fullreport.pdf and eight casestudies.pdf. The case studies  were chosen from 100’s of people interviewed for this project. We prepared them from Keith’s research teams’ original transcripts, allowing the respondent to tell his or her story in their own words,  letting their inspiring qualities speak for themselves.

Its really important for people to have role models.  These eight contributors through their suggestions, will help those facing obstacles but desiring a career in this industry. The report contributes to the understanding of the nature of the barriers. The recommendations could inform initiatives by policymakers and employers to overcome these barriers and support diversity.
