Sacred Heart of Mary Girls’School Upminster Essex

A Business and Enterprise School, I was here to talk on behalf of the Girls! Make your Mark Campaign. My immediate impressions; the class was well equipped with lots of business information on the walls around the room; the highly motivated business studies teacher was the culprit “I love all aspects of business, I read about it constantly,” he said. Hardly surprising then that a group of his girls are through to the finals of Young Enterprise’s national competition which sees tens of thousands of entries per year. Spending the morning with year 10 and year 12 business studies girls, I also took some classes about creativity and presented some cameos about 3 famous products and the enterprising women behind them. I particularly like to highlight the barriers that they faced and explain how they overcame these.  The girls worked very well and were a credit to their school. Best of luck with the competition!
